York, PA - A York County judge
has ruled that Steven E. Landis who has a federal civil rights lawsuit against
Springettsbury Township Police is not guilty of resisting arrest.
Judge Richard K. Renn,
presiding over a bench trial Wednesday, issued his ruling after watching a video
of cops Chad Moyer and William Polizzotto arresting Steven E. Landis on Aug. 5,
2012. Renn watched the video that was
taken by a police cruiser camera several times. Renn determined that Landis did
not have time to comply to Moyer's demands for him to put his hands behind his
back. Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the police brutality
allegations against the two cops.
